The heart of the fortress was, in medieval times, the Castle. Today the center of gravity of the site has moved to this small modern rustic building. A volunteer guard welcomes visitors to Poilvache with a smile. There is a little documentation on the site but also something to quench your thirst on very hot days… Special local beers can be enjoyed (in moderation…) with great pleasure on the terrace which overlooks the superb landscape of the Haute-Meuse valley towards Dinant.
