The room located to the north of the supposed location of the keep occupies an almost equivalent surface area, which testifies to its importance in the castle. According to the discovery of a chimney, it was mainly used as a dwelling but it could have been used for official purposes, given its vast dimensions. We can imagine in this context that it was used by the castellan or the provost as part of their functions.

Excavations carried out inside the room revealed that the hearth of the fireplace had been the subject of particular care during construction. The fragments of terracotta used were arranged to form a geometric pattern.

Currently, in order to avoid damage that can cause rain and frost, this chimney is covered. Careful cleaning of the floor revealed traces of exposure to heat which can certainly be explained by a fire undoubtedly linked to the attack of 1430.
