Today, the medieval « City » has given way to a plant cathedral… Straight, majestic, planted around 1870 (according to the DNF estimate), the Austrian black pines of Poilvache are today an integral part of the somewhat theatrical decor of the site. They give a “romantic” atmosphere to the ruins and shade appreciated in summer. As you walk through this park, you will discover the two types of medieval construction (cob and stone house) so far listed in the town of Poilvache, the cistern, the towers and the enclosure. The City covers 2/3 of the entire site which has a total of 2.5 Ha. The city plunges gently down to the enclosure built on the steep edge of the Meuse bank.
